We are urgently looking for a Consultant Vascular Surgeon for short term locum work, on the beautiful Cayman Islands in the Caribbean.  This requirement is to start as soon as possible for 3 - 4 months. 

You will receive:

  • Flat rate of CI$2,500 per week (paid fortnightly);
  • Accommodation provided;
  • Car provided;
  • Malpractice coverage provided;
  • Health Insurance;
  • Medical registration fees paid by the hospital and work permit provided;
  • Reimbursement of airline tickets (economy rate);

You must have Specialist Medical Registration/Board Certification from one of the following countries:  UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Jamaica

  • You should have full registration, with a licence to practice and be on the Specialist Register or equivalent;
  • You will need a minimum of 3 years postgraduate experience as a Consultant;
  • You will be fully trained in Vascular Surgery;
  • You should be available at short notice;

Hospitals

Cayman Islands Hospital in Grand Cayman is the principal health care facility in the country, and is a modern, 139,066 sq. ft., two-story facility with 124 beds. It offers accident and emergency services; a wide range of surgical services; a Critical Care Unit, physiotherapy; a pharmacy; a central sterilisation unit; and laboratory services, including a state-of-the-art forensic unit - along with many other facilities a person would expect in a modern health care setting.

This is a 24-hour full-service medical facility. There are four operating theatres; a dialysis unit; oncology unit; X-ray; morgue; and a forensic and drug testing laboratory. Other facilities include: outpatient specialist clinics, administrative offices, and a modern high-tech electronic health information management section.

Faith Hospital in Cayman Brac is a dynamic community hospital serving the residents of Cayman Brac and Little Cayman.  The hospital is an 18-bed facility that provides primary, secondary and emergency care and is staffed by highly trained, experienced and qualified professional and support staff which includes Physicians, Nurses, Support Services, Administrative and Clerical Personnel.

Per capita, Faith Hospital has more Physicians and Specialty Staff than any county hospital in the United States.  It is indeed a unique and extraordinary health service facility for residents and visitors.
