Minimum ten years of healthcare financial management experience in a finance leadership position for Home Health Agency(s) preferred, or healthcare organization (will be considered).

The Vice President of Finance & Strategy is a key member of the senior management team of UVMHN Home Health & Hospice (HHH), reporting directly to the President & Chief Operating Officer. The Vice President acts as the Chief Financial Officer of the organization and the assistant Treasurer of the corporation. This position partners closely with HHH’s President to enable the organizations long term strategic plan. The VP of Finance & Strategy is responsible for identifying and leading areas of growth and improvement. S/he will leverage insights from analytics to increase organizational productivity, performance.
The VP will be responsible for strategic planning, organizing, and directing the following functions at UVMHN HHH: Accounting, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Budget, Analysis, Contracting, Revenue Cycle and Facilities. This role is responsible for GAAP reporting, ensuring the organization has adequate internal control systems, responding to internal audit reports and recommendations, preparation of the organization’s tax returns, coordination of the annual external audit, and for maintaining the organization’s overall financial systems. The VP of Finance & Strategy reports directly to the President & COO of UVMHN HHH with a functional reporting to the University of Vermont Health Network (Network) Chief Financial Officer. Reporting directly to the VP/CFO are the following positions: Director of Accounting, Revenue Cycle Manager, Facilities Manager, as well as the Network Director, Business and Clinical Ancillary Applications (IT). The VP of Finance & Strategy has the authority to establish systems and processes to ensure that financial statements are prepared in a timely and accurate manner. In preparing financial statements, the incumbent has the authority to apply judgment in the application of accounting principles and to establish, modify, and maintain organizational policies and procedures that affect the accurate collection and presentation of financial information. The incumbent will also manage the organization s cash disbursement process and has the authority to establish such systems, processes, and controls that are necessary to accomplish this. The incumbent will drive key performance indicators in revenue cycle and the finance department.
The VP of Finance & Strategy will collaborate across the network to communicate and deliver transformation at both an affiliate and Network level. This includes a broad range of individuals within the organization, including UVMMC and other UVMHN affiliate leadership at all levels. The incumbent will attend and present information at the Board of Directors meetings, and will work closely with a variety of external constituents including auditors, tax attorneys, consultants, bankers, and vendors.
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare, business, finance or accounting. Master’s Degree and CPA preferred.
- CPA or CMA credentials desired but not required.
